Terms of Service
CollegeCareerFit Terms of Service
Effective date: August 27, 2026. Please read this together with our Privacy Policy, which explains our data practices in more detail.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between CollegeCareerFit LLC, an Indiana limited liability company ("CollegeCareerFit," "we," "us," or "our"), and the person or entity that creates an account, pays for access, or creates a student invitation on the CollegeCareerFit website and application, available at collegecareerfit.com (the "Site") and app.collegecareerfit.com (the "App," and together with the Site, the "Service"). "You" refers to that contracting party. See Section 1 for who that is depending on how you're using the Service.
By creating an account, creating an invitation, making a payment, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Eligibility and who is agreeing to these Terms
CollegeCareerFit is built for high school and early-college students, and different rules apply depending on how a student gets access:
- No one under 13 may use the Service, in any capacity, under any path.
- Self-serve access (18+). If you are creating your own account and paying for your own access, you must be at least 18 years old. Payment, account creation, and these Terms all require the legal capacity to enter into a contract, which is why self-serve access is limited to adults.
- Invited students (16+). A student may also gain access through an invitation created and paid for by a parent or legal guardian, or by a school or sponsoring organization enrolling a cohort of students. A student accessing the Service this way must be at least 16 years old. In this path, the inviting parent, guardian, school, or sponsoring organization (not the student) is the party who agrees to these Terms and is responsible for the invitation, the payment, and authorizing the student's use, as described in Section 2. A student's own use of the Service under an invitation does not, by itself, make the student a contracting party to these Terms.
By creating an account, making a payment, or creating an invitation, you represent that you meet the applicable age requirement above (or, for a parent, guardian, school, or organization, that the student you are inviting is at least 16).
2. Parental and organizational consent
If you are a parent or legal guardian creating an invitation for a student, you represent and agree that:
- you are that student's parent or legal guardian, or otherwise have legal authority to make decisions about the student's use of online services;
- you consent to the student's use of the Service, including taking the assessment and CollegeCareerFit's collection and use of the student's information as described in our Privacy Policy;
- you agree to these Terms on your own behalf, and you are authorizing and taking responsibility for the student's use of the Service under your invitation; and
- you'll review these Terms and the Privacy Policy with the student, in an age-appropriate way.
If a school or sponsoring organization enrolls a student (for example, as part of a grant-funded cohort), the same representations in this Section apply to the staff member or organization creating that enrollment, standing in place of a parent for purposes of this Section, and the organization's own agreement with CollegeCareerFit (where one exists) governs alongside these Terms.
3. What a parent or sponsoring organization can see
When a student joins through a parent's invitation, that parent has read-only access to:
- the student's assessment results, including their career-interest profile and the specific career recommendations shown to the student (with pay, job-growth, and AI-disruption-risk details);
- the colleges and majors matched to the student; and
- the careers and colleges the student has saved or bookmarked.
"Read-only" means the parent can view and export this information but cannot answer assessment questions for the student, retake the assessment on the student's behalf, or add or remove the student's saved items. When a student joins through a school or sponsoring organization instead of a parent, that organization's authorized staff have this same read-only access to the students it sponsors, and to no one else's results.
4. Information we collect
Using the Service involves collecting the following information about you or your student. This section is a summary; our Privacy Policy has the full detail, including how each category is used and shared.
- Account information (email, and password if applicable; name/email/photo if you sign in with Google);
- Assessment answers and the results generated from them;
- ZIP code, used to find nearby colleges;
- Saved or bookmarked careers and colleges;
- Invitation and relationship data connecting a parent's or organization's account to an invited student's results;
- Payment records (through Stripe; we do not receive or store full card numbers);
- Messages you send us through the contact form or by email; and
- Device and diagnostic information collected automatically while you use the assessment, including browser/user-agent string, screen and viewport size, and whether cookies and local storage are available in your browser. We collect this specifically to detect and recover from interrupted or lost assessment sessions (for example, a student's progress not saving in a particular browser); it is not used for advertising or to track you across other websites.
5. Payment terms
- Pay-to-enter. Self-serve access is a one-time purchase, made through Stripe, before an account or results are provided. It is not a subscription, and the price shown at checkout applies to that purchase.
- Invited students. When a parent, school, or sponsoring organization pays for an invitation, the invited student's access is included in that payment at no separate cost to the student.
- Refunds. Because access to the assessment and your results is granted immediately after payment, purchases are final and non-refundable once access has been granted or results generated. The one exception: if a technical problem on our end prevented you from receiving access or results, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we'll fix the problem or refund you.
- Pricing changes. We may change our prices going forward; a change does not affect a purchase you've already made.
6. Data retention
Account and results data is kept while an account is active, and for a reasonable period after a deletion request to complete it. The device and diagnostic information described in Section 4 is retained for up to 12 months and then deleted. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: share or resell an invitation code except as intended for the student it was issued to; attempt to access another user's account or results; scrape, reverse-engineer, or misuse the Service; or use the Service in a way that violates the eligibility requirements in Section 1.
8. Not professional advice
CollegeCareerFit provides career and college information and recommendations for educational and informational purposes. It is not professional career counseling, financial, or college-admissions advice, and it does not guarantee admission to any college, eligibility for financial aid, or any particular career or earnings outcome. Career, salary, and college data comes from third-party sources (including the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, O*NET, and the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard) that we believe are reliable but do not control and cannot guarantee are complete, current, or error-free.
9. Intellectual property
CollegeCareerFit owns the Service, including its software, design, and the recommendations it generates. You keep ownership of the assessment answers and other content you or your student submit, and you grant us a license to use it to provide and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CollegeCareerFit's total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Indemnification
If you are the parent, guardian, school, or organization that created an invitation, you agree to indemnify and hold CollegeCareerFit harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms, including the representations in Section 2.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service, or request deletion of your account, at any time (see our Privacy Policy for how). We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, including the eligibility requirements in Section 1.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Indiana, and both parties consent to jurisdiction there.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We'll update the effective date at the top of this page, and for material changes we'll take reasonable steps to notify account holders before the change takes effect.
15. Contact us
Questions about these Terms can be sent through the contact form on our Privacy page, or by email to privacy@collegecareerfit.com.
